                                                              2013 BEST ACTRESS

                                                       Cate Blanchett-Blue Jasmine
Excellent, tour de force performance for ages.

                                                         Amy Adams-American Hustle
Truly a suprise, in a good way. She took the role super seriously and the results are amazing. Maybe the best performance in her movie, and definitely the most memorable. But the best part for me were her facial expressions. Also, she finally showed us her other, sexy and wild side.

                                                              Sandra Bullock-Gravity
A performance of her career, very good psychical performance.

                                                                 Judi Dench-Philomena
A very good, touching and subtle performance, in a very good film by an acting legend.

                                                    Meryl Streep-August Osage County
Speaking of legends, here is also one very good performance, maybe overacting at times, but in some scenes you could see a master-class of acting.

So, i actually agree with the nominations, we have one amazing and 4 very good, each in its own way. But, lets see now the ladies that were likely the next 5.......with very short reviews!

Adele Exarchopoulos-Blue is the warmest color
Not an out of this world performance, but a very good, brave, emotional performance by a young actress. But i do not understand why Lea didnt also get awards attention. She was also really good.

Brie Larson-Short Term 12
There is something special about this performance. It is brilliantly acted by a newcomer. Breaktrough performance of the year. Strong 4.5!

Julie Delpy-Before Midnight
Julie is electrifying here and soo real here, as she was in other two BEFORE movies. Great work.

Emma Thompson-Saving Mr. Banks
I really didnt like the film, def. the worst of the nominees and unnominees, but Emma still gives her all in this performance. Unbelievably phenomenal work. Very, very strong 4.5!

Greta Gerwig-frances Ha
Although i liked the film, i found her not that interesting and a little lost. Good work, but nothing special.

A really strong year, with again one AMAZING (Blanchett), five very strong performances (Adams, Adele, Thompson, Larson and Bullock), 3 very good (Delpy, Dench, Streep) and 1 (Gerwig) that is also great, but others were a lot better. So here are mine TOP FIVE!

                                                   2014 BEST ACTRESS PREDICTIONS
                                                                           (august)

1. Reese Witherspoon-Wild
Baity role, comeback role, likely a big player
2. Rosamund Pike-Gone Girl
Baity role, likely a big player, newcomer,...
3. Jessica Chastain-Eleanor Rigby
Has many roles this year, Harvey, really good reviews-probably her best role to date
4. Julianne Moore-Maps to the stars
Cannes winner, excellent reviews, Cronenberg actors have been nominated before, but she could go supporting
5.Amy Adams-Big Eyes
This could be a fail and she could go nowhere, but Academy loves her and she is in biopic, +Harvey

6. Marion Cotillard- Two days, one night
Excellent reviews, maybe even better than for Rust and Bone, but has a weak distributor, she needs to campaign again!
7. Meryl Streep- Into the WOODS
Well, this could be Johnny Depp in Chocolate factory (only Globe nomination), or Depp in Pirates (Globe, Sag WIN!, and Oscar nom), because Streep is getting than Globe nom
8. Juliette Binoche-Clouds of Sils Maria
Great reviews in a Hollywood movie, could this be her comeback, burt from critics this seem like a Stewart film
9. S. Woodley.- The fault in our stars
Movie was tipical teenage tear drama (bleh), but she was superb, not a  draw dropping performance, but a nice one from young new actress
10. Hilary Swank- The Homesman
Great reviews on her perfomance, but so-so on the movie, this could go nowhere, but that was also said to her Conviction, which got her a Sag nom

*COULD SUPRISE

11. Scarlett Johansson- Under the skin
Has excellent reviews, directors actors have been nominated before, so a star like her in a weak year...Strong contender for drama Globe nom
12. Julianne Moore-Still Alice
Baity role.....waiting for the reviews
13. Jennifer Anniston-Cake
Transformative role, she is a big star, coud be Sandra-Blind side situation, but has a very bad director
14. Helen Mirren-100 foot journey
She is great, as usually, her movie is earning a lot of money, Globe nom is waiting, and also could Bafta in a weak year like this (Hitchcock)
15. Felicity Jones-Theory of everything
If they go for this film in a big way, she could happen, but also in supporting, i dunno i dont have faith in this one

16. Patricia Arquette-Boyhood
She is excellent, and some say she could go lead, I dunno how smart that would be, because she is clearly suppoorting, but since she was really great i wouldnt mind, same happened to Viola Davis, and she was even a runner up
